On the 3rd of February, Secondary School Machico ( EBSM ) , hosts a presentation session of the ‘ SOCIENTIZE ‘. This is a European Citizen Science project , whose goal is to make the ordinary citizen a true scientist in actual scientific research projects . The presentation takes place by 14:15 H. The activities in EBSM continue on the morning of February 4th ( Tuesday ) with practical application sessions ” Cell Spotting ” , a research project that seeks to discover new ways to fight cancer. At 15 pm , the principal investigator of the ” Cell Spotting ” , José Villar Carrodeguas , from the Institute for Biocomputing and Physics of Complex Systems ( BIFI ) , University of Zaragoza , will be meeting by videoconference , with high school students for an interview on the design , implementation and other issues related to scientific research . The calendar of activities in EBSM extends until the 5th of February ( Wednesday ) suit for teachers in the Autonomous Region of Madeira . The team also uses SOCIENTIZE to publicize the project to other schools of Madeira on 6 and 7 February.
